Better Than PINKBERRY frozen yogurt

Growing up Thursday nights were always one of my favorite nights of the week. Why? My parents created an incredibly delicious tradition. A trip the local frozen yogurt shop.

I’m not going to lie to you guys, I love it! As a child I just knew I would be the ‘cool mom’ with the frozen yogurt machine in my house. It would obviously be accessible 24/7. I was pretty proud of myself for picking such a ‘healthy’ dessert to love so much.

Fast forward 15 years and frozen yogurt is increasingly popular. It is always sold as the healthy dessert. Now I know that’s pretty much bologna. Since I don’t think fat is bad anymore. All the fat free gobblygoop around froyo doesn’t sell me. The last time David and I enjoyed frozen yogurt, David decided to ask for an ingredient list. I was thinking, “DON”T DO IT!”. It’s just one of the areas I wanted ignorance to be bliss. “What is used to sweeten the frozen yogurt you might ask yourself?’ CORN SUGAR! That’s code for high fructose KILL syrup….whoops I mean high fructose corn syrup.

In my sadness I came to the kitchen and invented something so delicious you’ll never go back to a froyo bar again and like me, you’ll realise making frozen yogurt is easy! It’s sugar free and just three simple ingredients. Your body will thank you and so will your tastes buds.

Homemade Raspberry Frozen Yogurt (makes 1 serving)
-½ cup whole milk greek yogurt (preferably organic)
-2 tablespoons organic maple syrup
-¼ cup organic frozen raspberries

Directions:Combine all three ingredients and STIR STIR STIR.

Once you achieve a beautiful pink color, place your yogurt in the freezer for 30 minutes. I know it’s hard to wait but it will be soooooo worth it.

Once your 30 minutes is up remove your frozen yogurt and stir it well again.
